Background

Anne Harrow is a principal of AH Associates, Business and Training Consultancy and an Associate with 4-consulting.

Anne began her career in Clinical Photography at Glasgow Royal Infirmary and continued working in the field of clinical imaging until 1984.

Following a family career break Anne returned to full time employment in January 1998, joining Dumfries and Galloway Constabulary as a Scenes of Crime Officer.  In the same year Anne was invited to join Scottish Qualifications Authority as and External Verifier.

Anne has always been active in the community and was a volunteer with the local Health Council Advocacy project.  In 1999, an opportunity to join the project as Assistant Manager led to a fairly major career change.

The early 2000s saw national strategic change within the NHS and local government, which led to a more integrated approach to patient involvement and community engagement.  With experience in designing, delivering and evaluating national programmes of learning, together with experience in delivering and facilitating patient involvement and community engagement, Anne was positioned to take a lead role within the Health Council in developing and accrediting a customised programme of learning for public involvement.  The project, which, was undertaken on behalf of the Scottish Executive Department of Health and accredited by Scottish Qualifications Authority, was delivered across Scotland to all NHS Boards.

Following the dissolution of local Health Councils by the Scottish Executive in 2006 Anne established her own management consultancy.
