4-consulting has worked with Scottish Enterprise
to evaluate the organisational implications of the pilot Workplace of the Future project.
The project challenges traditional working practices and
explores innovative workspace design. 4-consulting Director, Ros
Southcott, was responsible for the facilitation of the communication and staff training programmes in the countdown to
Scottish Enterprise's move to a new HQ building in September 2001, in which 95% of staff felt that the move process
had met or exceeded their expectations.
Jointly for Scottish Enterprise and the Scottish Higher Education Funding Council,
4-consulting carried out an e valuation of Technology Ventures Scotland to assess how TVS had performed both against the grant funding conditions from the funding bodies and in terms of its successes in commercialisation. The project required an assessment of the activities, outcomes ands outputs of the organisation, an indication of the benefits arising from the activities of TVS, an assessment of value for money and the development of a range of options for the future
4-consulting Director, Fiona
Ballantyne, worked with the Royal Botanic Garden
in Edinburgh carrying our market research, customer profiling and
a segmentation study including input to help develop and support their first Master Interpretative Plan. The purpose of the study was to develop a better understanding of the Garden's different customer groups, their needs and expectations, and to identify ways in which access could be maximised. We also explored customer views on the issue of pricing, and on specific Themes that the Garden is developing. A range of quantitative and qualitative techniques were used, including face-to-face interviews and focus groups with members of the public, horticultural specialists and staff.
4-consulting carried out a project for the National Museums of Scotland to review their IT facilities, develop the specification, manage the public procurement tendering process and oversee the hardware installation and implementation. In subsequent projects,
we have acted a project mentors to the NMS project manager in the upgrade of its ICT technical infrastructure and the creation and roll-out of templates for desktop user applications.
