Director of the Scottish Police Information Strategy Group
on the implications for IT skills and staff planning arising from a proposal to merge the IT departments of all Scottish Police Forces
and create a new, single central IT resource.
Working to a Steering Group involving the Scottish Executive, ACPOS and COSLA,
4-consulting Director, Ralph Leishman reviewed the basis of allocation of Police GAE (funding) from the Scottish Executive to the eight police forces in Scotland, which included an Activity Analysis project to determine the allocation of police time to various workload categories across Scotland . This included a major data collection and verification exercise involving all eight Scottish police forces.
