A leading manufacturer of electronic point-of-sale credit card terminals
appointed 4-consulting Director, Fiona Ballantyne to determine attitudes amongst senior staff in financial organisations towards the company's product and service levels. 4-consulting
carried out a "Proof of Concept" study for an innovative software package developed by Heriot Watt University. The
software was aimed at specific sectors of the fast-growing digital video market, including quality upstream TV production, domestic camcorder editing suites and preparation of Internet content. The initial stage of the project consisted of gathering information on the primary
markets at which the product was targeted and prioritising the different applications of the technology, depending on market demand. The project then moved on to the collection of information to support the development of a business case, and to assess the potential of a number of different routes to market.
4-consulting Director, Sandy Pratt, acted as project
manager for an assignment within the Scottish Enterprise Softnet programme
which aimed to introduce broadband telecommunications facilities into each of the Software Development Centres established by Scottish Enterprise throughout Scotland . The project comprised a feasibility study covering user needs and potential uptake, an examination of options, the preparation of a specification of requirements and a public procurement tender. As a result of the project, software development business tenants were provided with secure, broadband access.
