Energy
4-consulting
Director, Sandy Pratt, advised the energy utility, Scottish Power plc,
on issues relating to the commercialisation of an in-house software application. The advice included routes to market, pricing models, protecting intellectual property, preparing the software and related documentation for distribution on the commercial basis, the internal structures required for supporting external users of the application, marketing, packaging and long-term business planning. As a result of the
recommendations, the company successfully licensed its technology to an international engineering company.
A
Scottish-based, international oil services company, SPS International
(now part of MI-SWACO)
appointed 4-consulting Director, Sandy Pratt, to develop an ICT strategy.
The company provided down-hole and top-side asset rental, well bore
clean-up and engineering services. In a second phase of the project, the IT strategy was extended to enable overseas offices, agents, joint-venture partners and international engineering staff to have controlled access to appropriate parts of the corporate knowledge base and operations management systems.
