4-consulting
Director, Sandy Pratt, advised Norway's largest aquaculture company, Stolt Seafarms,
on the implementation of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and financial ledgers applications. The assignment centred on configuring the applications for use in a common way across the company's worldwide operations allowing for local languages, accounting policies and taxation rules,
and providing global management and financial performance information to
the management team. In a later phase, the company's quality assurance procedures
were adapted to ensure that the ERP reporting and control features were integrated to the quality management system.
In another project,
4-consulting Director, Fiona Ballantyne, carried out a UK customer attitude research and market testing of an innovative packaging concept for designer lagers and soft
drinks for Daiwa. The packaging had been successfully introduced in Japan and the manufacturers and their UK partner wished to test the attractiveness of the concept in the designer beers market amongst 18 – 24 year olds in the UK . Although seen as attractive, the target market felt the concept was more appropriate for the soft drinks market. Lower margins in the soft drink sector made this approach less attractive to the manufacturer.
