As risk management tops the agenda could you survive an IT disaster?

Last month the government’s publication of the Combined Code of Corporate Governance placed responsibility for risk management firmly with the board. When the recent blackout in the United States and Canada effectively closed down businesses it was easy to see just how important it is to plan for the unexpected. 4-consulting director, Sandy Pratt, takes a look at the processes involved in carrying out effective IT risk auditing and developing a recovery plan. The voluntary sector MUST take action now to ensure they are close to their customers!

Recent research has shown that UK charitable giving has reached a record high; however, the increase is through raising more money from fewer people.  At a time when voluntary organisations are also facing rising costs it has never been more important for them to review how they communicate with their customers (users) and clients (funders). 4-consulting director, Fiona Ballantyne, looks at ways the public and private sector have developed customer relationships and how this impacts on the voluntary sector. Meeting the challenge of Excel and Word

Manage your worksheets with colour-coding, cross-check your column and row totals and learn how to transform a table into a chart. These and other tips are explained by 4-consulting director, Sandy Pratt, in the next of our series of practical advice on using your Office software. Click here for the complete article.
