Scotch Whisky Contribution Study

4-consulting was commissioned by the Scotch Whisky Association (SWA) to undertake a study of the contribution that Scotch Whisky producers make to the Scottish and UK economies.  The SWA requested the study shows the economic impact of Scotch Whisky during the year 2013

The study found that the Scotch Whisky industry is more productive today than Scotland’s financial services at their peak before the financial crisis. The industry supported just over 40,000 jobs directly and indirectly across the UK and generated wages of £1.4 billion

“We have worked with 4-consulting on a number of projects. On each occasion they have provided an in-depth analysis of the research findings and has have been able to put these into a wider context.  The recent report on the ‘Economic Impact of Scotch Whisky Production in UK’ has helped reinforce Scotch Whisky’s position as a highly significant industry. This has added to the impact and relevance of our work."

David Frost, Scotch Whisky Association chief executive, SWA, 2015
